The Leadership Project is an eight week training experience that is specifically designed to deepen authentic love for God and establish a lifelong walk with God. Each student works a full-time job during the day and participates in Bible studies, evangelistic outreaches, discipleship groups, ministry training, socials and other activities during the week. This schedule creates an ideal environment for students to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and develop leadership skills that will set them up to be successful back on campus and in the marketplace after graduation.

On the project students learn how to lead, work on teams, deal with conflict, communicate, and work hard. What does my day look like?
Where will I be working?
Students work at SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Studios, and Chick-fil-a in the area.
Where will I be staying?
Students will be living together at the Parc Corniche Hotel in Orlando, FL. Each room has a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, and a communal living space. Upon acceptance to The LP, we will provide a packing list of items that will be helpful to bring. On site there is a pool, complimentary continental breakfast, and nearby meeting spaces where daily meetings will be held. The hotel is within 1 mile of Sea World and 3 miles of Universal Studios. Who is in attendance?
Students from UNC-Chapel Hill, East Carolina University, Campbell University, and North Carolina State University will be in attendance.
How much does it cost?
The cost of the project is $2,000. This price includes rent for the hotel, rental of meeting space at the hotel, one meal provided per week, social events, and other materials and program costs for the project. Wages earned from working can be used to pay for project. However, if a student raises support, that money made from working can be used for personal savings or to help pay for college expenses after the project is over.
How do I raise support for the LP?
Support raising is the process of asking individuals, families, and churches to invest in a student for their summer experience of growing in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Support raising helps offset the expenses of the project. Raising support can be a great way to cover the entire cost of the project as well as a great way to let others participate in your summer experience of growing in your walk with the Lord. It is also a great way for you to trust God and experience his provision through other people.
How do I get down to LP?
Students can take their own car and it is highly suggested to drive in order to get to work efficiently. However if a student cannot drive or does not have a car, they will have a way to work and down to the LP. Every year students carpool or caravan down to the LP. CO Raleigh creates a ride spreadsheet for students to connect to other students going to Orlando, who may live in or near them to be able to do so. Students are more than welcome to fly to the LP. Staff or Team Leaders will pick up students from the airport and take them to the airport to fly home at the end of the LP. However students are responsible for finding their own flights and the cost is not covered in their LP costs/support they have raised.

What is support raising? Why do you do it?

How much money will students earn?
Most students will earn $9-$10/hr working between 32 and 40 hours per week during the summer. We also strongly recommend that students raise tax-deductible donations that go toward the cost of LP, enabling them to save more for the fall semester.
Can I visit my student on the LP?
You are more than welcome to visit your students outside of that time but we ask that you have your student notify leadership in advance so that we can account for them.
We also have a designated time for parents to come visit the project, meet our staff and students, and experience Orlando with their child. June 22-24 this year
How can I ensure my student will be safe in Orlando?
CO Raleigh has developed policies to ensure each student enjoys their time, but is most safe while living in Orlando. Please reference our LP Policy guide for further information.
How long has LP been around?
The Leadership Project with CO Raleigh has been an annual event since 2007, however these CO Summer Leadership Projects have taken place since 1990.
